Indonesia Clinches Four Golds at Astana International Challenge

KBRN, Astana:  The Indonesian shuttlers delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 Astana International Challenge, held at the Beeline Arena in Astana, Kazakhstan, from December 17 to 21.

Of the five events contested, Indonesia secured four gold medals and two silver medals, emerging as the tournament's overall champion.

The event, part of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Continental Circuit calendar, brought together promising athletes from various countries competing for world ranking points.

Indonesia claimed the mixed doubles title through Bimo Prasetyo and Arlya Nabila Thesya Munggaran. In men’s doubles, Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Rahmat Hidayat won gold.

At the same time, two other Indonesian pairs, Ali Faathir Rayhan/Devin Artha Wahyudi and Anselmus Breagit Fredy Prasetya/Pulung Ramadhan, finished third, underscoring the depth of Indonesia’s talent in the category.

In women’s doubles, Lanny Tria Mayasari and Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi finished runner-up. In women’s singles, Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan clinched the title, while Dalila Aghnia Puteri secured third place.

Indonesia also dominated men’s singles, with Muhamad Yusuf winning gold and Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo taking silver.

“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the 28 athletes, coaches, and officials who participated in the 2025 Astana International Challenge in Kazakhstan. These four gold and two silver medals are proof of their tireless efforts to defend the Red and White under any circumstances,” said Indonesia’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, M. Fadjroel Rachman.

Men’s doubles champion Muhammad Rian Ardianto dedicated his and Rahmat Hidayat’s victory to the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), supporters in Kazakhstan, and the Indonesian people. “We dedicate this victory to the PBSI family, our supporters in Kazakhstan, and the Indonesian people,” he said.
