Indonesia Advances to ASEAN U-19 Futsal Final

KBRN, Nonthaburi: Indonesia’s U-19 national futsal team delivered a masterclass in offensive efficiency on Saturday, December 27, 2025, dismantling Vietnam 7-3 in a high-scoring semifinal at Nonthaburi Hall, Thailand.

The "Garuda Muda" squad showcased tactical discipline and clinical finishing to punch their ticket to the ASEAN U-19 Boys Futsal Championship 2025 final.

The victory sets up a gold-medal showdown against the winner of the other semifinal clash between hosts Thailand and Malaysia.

The match opened at a frantic pace, with six goals scored in the first 20 minutes alone. Indonesia took an early lead in the 3rd minute through Dafa Erlangga, who tapped in from close range following a slick team buildup.

Vietnam responded almost immediately when Tran Le Bo unleashed a powerful strike from the right wing to level the score at 1-1. However, the momentum shifted back to Indonesia in the 5th minute when Haekel Ayyasy capitalized on a goalkeeping blunder to slot the ball into an empty net.

Within sixty seconds, Riski Hidayat extended the lead to 3-1.

Vietnam managed to pull one back via a set-piece routine finished by Vu Dai Hoc in the 7th minute, but Indonesia regained control before the break. Dafa Erlangga netted his second of the night in the 13th minute, assisted by Reivan Revian, sending Indonesia into the locker room with a 4-2 advantage.

Under the guidance of head coach Naim Hamid Salim, Indonesia remained relentless in the second half. Reivan Revian added a fifth goal in the 25th minute, forcing Vietnam to switch to a "power play" strategy (replacing their goalkeeper with an extra outfield attacker) in a desperate attempt to close the gap.

While Vietnam’s Pham Quang Huy managed to make it 5-3 in the 33rd minute, the risky tactic eventually backfired. Indonesia’s goalkeeper, Guntur Rochmatdhani Pratikno, turned scorer by twice launching the ball across the full length of the pitch into Vietnam’s unguarded net, sealing the emphatic 7-3 victory.

Indonesia’s journey to the final has been flawless. They entered the knockout stage as Group B winners after securing a 4-1 win over Myanmar and a gritty 1-0 victory against Malaysia.

Indonesia’s head coach, Naim Hamid Salim, opted for a balanced starting quintet featuring Guntur Rochmatdhani Pratikno in goal, supported by the outfield rotation of Reivan Revian, Muhamad Fatih Zidan, Ahmad Firdaus, and Andi Umayyah.

On the opposing side, Vietnam’s coach Nguyen Tuan Anh looked to counter with a lineup consisting of goalkeeper Doan Tuan Phong and outfielders Nguyen Minh Luong, Pham Quang Huy, Do Van Thanh, and the dangerous Tran Le Bo. ***
