Indonesia’s Economy Remains Resilient Amid Global Challenges

KBRN, Jakarta: The Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Susiwijono Moegiarso, stated that Indonesia’s economy has remained resilient amid global dynamics. In a press release issued on Monday (12/29/2025), he affirmed that the achievement was the result of coordination across ministries and government agencies in maintaining economic stability.

“Closing out 2025, we are grateful that the national economy has remained resilient despite challenging global conditions. The achievement reflects joint efforts across ministries and institutions to safeguard stability while advancing economic transformation,” Susiwijono Moegiarso conveyed.

Data from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs show that throughout 2025, Indonesia’s economy posted positive performance, with growth reaching 5.04 percent year on year in the third quarter of 2025 and inflation remaining under control at 2.72 percent as of November 2025. The trade balance also recorded a surplus of USD 35.88 billion during the January-October 2025 period.

On the external front, Indonesia continued to strengthen its global role through various strategic economic cooperation initiatives, including IEU-CEPA, ICA-CEPA, ACFTA 3.0, and the signing of the Indonesia–EAEU Free Trade Agreement in December 2025. In addition, negotiations on reciprocal tariffs with the United States have reached agreement on key substantive issues and are targeted for completion in early 2026.

Meanwhile in energy transition, funding commitments under the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) for Indonesia increased from USD 20 billion in 2022 to USD 21.4 billion in 2025, reflecting strong confidence from international partners in Indonesia’s sustainable and inclusive energy transition policies.
