KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian U16 and U19 futsal national teams have simultaneously advanced to the finals of the 2025 ASEAN Boys’ Futsal Championship, setting the stage for a historic moment in Thailand.
Saturday, December 27, 2025, showcased the resilience and technical dominance of Indonesia’s young talents. The U19 squad delivered a commanding 7–3 victory over Vietnam in the semifinals.
Goals came in succession from Muhamad Dafa Erlangga, Sulaiman Riski, Haekel Ayyasy, and captain Reivan Revian. The spotlight, however, fell on goalkeeper Guntur Rochmatdhani, who remarkably scored twice to seal Indonesia’s place in the final.
Meanwhile, the U16 team demonstrated composure and mental strength against host nation Thailand. Despite the pressure of thousands of home supporters, they held firm for a 3–3 draw, enough to secure their own ticket to the final alongside their seniors.
Chairman of the Indonesian Futsal Federation (FFI), Michael Victor Sianipar, welcomed the achievement as proof of Indonesia’s successful youth development program. “This is clear evidence that our development pathway is on the right track,” he said.
Michael added that Indonesia possesses an extraordinary pool of future talent and urged both teams to stay focused and deliver their best performance.
The National Team's Deputy Secretary General Frans Xaverius also praised the players’ fighting spirit. “We are truly grateful to witness the remarkable progress of both teams,” he noted.
Frans highlighted the U19 squad’s maturity and the U16 team’s admirable composure, attributing the success to the hard work of players and coaching staff alike.
Attention now turns to player recovery and preparation, ensuring they can perform freely in the final. Both teams are undergoing intensive physical rehabilitation and refining their strategies, with just one more step to bring pride to the nation.
