Taman Pintar Attracts Thousands of Visitors During Year-End Holidays

KBRN, Yogyakarta: Taman Pintar remains one of Yogyakarta’s most popular tourist destinations, drawing up to 5,500 visitors per day during the year-end holiday season.

Nia Dianti, head of the Cooperation and Marketing Section at Taman Pintar, said visitor numbers began to rise on December 22, with the peak recorded on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025. She hopes the upward trend will continue through the holiday season, which concludes in early January.

“The average number of visitors during this holiday period ranges between 4,000 and 5,000 per day. On Christmas Day, we reached 5,500,” Nia said on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

She noted that most visitors were families and added that Taman Pintar offers an ideal outing where children can learn through interactive play. The science park is designed to provide engaging experiences for all ages, from children and teenagers to adults.

Management confirmed that ticket prices remain unchanged during the holiday period, as the Yogyakarta City Administration manages Taman Pintar.

The main attraction, the City Oval Building, costs IDR 14,000 for children and IDR 24,000 for adults. Other attractions, including the planetarium, batik-making, and pottery workshops, require separate tickets.

In response to the surge in visitors, the park has extended its operating hours. Ticket sales, which usually close at 4 p.m. local time, have been extended to 4:30 p.m. during the holiday season.

Taman Pintar has also introduced several new attractions for visitors this year, including the Fossil Zone, the Marine Education Zone, and the Metrology Zone, developed in collaboration with partner institutions. (Misni Parjiati/Lasti Martina)
