Indonesian Futsal Federation Launches Women’s Talent Tryout Program

KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian Futsal Federation (FFI) has officially launched the Women’s Talent Tryout Program in Cibubur, East Jakarta. This initiative marks a strategic step to identify and recruit promising players for the national team.

Designed as a direct scouting platform, the tryout allows the federation to assess the skills, character, and development potential of female players. More than just a selection event, it serves as an introduction to national team standards while building a sustainable database of women’s futsal talent.

FFI Chairman Michael Victor Sianipar emphasized that the program is part of the federation’s medium-term vision to strengthen the foundation of the women’s national team.

“We prepared this program so that potential players can be observed directly,” Michael said in a statement received by RRI on Monday, December 29, 2025.

He stressed that the tryout is about building a future talent pool. FFI views it as the first step toward preparing for a busy international calendar, which includes both senior and youth-level competitions.

Frans Xaverius, FFI Deputy Secretary General for National Teams, highlighted the importance of the initiative. “The tryout is the entry point for establishing a women’s player database. From here, the federation can map out potential and design structured development pathways,” Frans explained.

Currently focused on female talent, the program aims to nurture the next generation of Garuda Pertiwi players ready for long-term development. FFI also envisions similar initiatives becoming part of a national talent identification system to strengthen Indonesia’s competitiveness at regional and Asian levels.

The process is designed for continuous monitoring, with the database supporting gradual player development toward the national team. Ultimately, the program represents a long-term investment in the future of Indonesian women’s futsal, built on the standards and discipline of the national squad. (Diffa Sephiawardhani/Sri Wahyuni)
