KBRN, Penajam Paser Utara: Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, accompanied by his wife, Selvi Gibran Rakabuming, arrived at Nusantara International Airport on Tuesday afternoon, December 30, 2025, to begin a two-day working visit to the new capital city (IKN).
According to Antara, the visit is intended to ensure that the relocation project remains on track, with a focus on integrating public services and preparing religious and legislative infrastructure.
The Vice President departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at 9:50 a.m. aboard the Boeing NG Presidential aircraft. After a two-hour flight, he landed at 1:00 p.m. local time.
He was welcomed by Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono, East Kalimantan Governor Rudy Mas’ud, and senior military and police officials.
The mission aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to ensure that IKN's development is inclusive, sustainable, and oriented toward public service.
On the first day, Gibran is scheduled to inspect several landmark projects that embody Indonesia’s motto, “Unity in Diversity” (Bhinneka Tunggal Ika).
His itinerary includes visits to the IKN National Mosque, Harmony Plaza (Plaza Kerukunan), and the construction site of the IKN Basilica Church. He will also review progress on the Vice Presidential Palace complex, a centerpiece of the new administrative hub.
The second day, Wednesday, December 31, 2025, will focus on community-related facilities. Gibran is expected to visit the IKN Education Zone and the Legislative/Judiciary building projects.
He will also stop at Sepaku Market (Pasar Rebo Sukaraja) in North Penajam Paser Utara to monitor local economic activity and ensure that the surrounding communities benefit from the rapid modernization.
In a statement, Gibran reaffirmed the government’s commitment to Nusantara as a sustainable and eco-friendly future capital. By overseeing strategic projects directly, he aims to guarantee that the transition reflects religious harmony and serves as a model for modern governance in Indonesia.
