Indonesia Urges Peaceful Resolution to Yemen Conflict

KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian Government has underscored
the importance of resolving the conflict in Yemen involving Saudi Arabia as a
supporter of the internationally recognized government and separatist groups,
in order to maintain stability and prevent further deterioration of the
security situation.

In a statement shared via the Indonesian Ministry of
Foreign Affairs’ official X account on Saturday (12/27/2025), Indonesia called on all
relevant parties to exercise restraint, halt escalation, and avoid unilateral
actions that could undermine stability.

“Indonesia calls on all parties to exercise
restraint, halt escalation, and avoid unilateral actions that could disrupt
stability,” the ministry stated.

Indonesia also expressed its appreciation
for the efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with related
countries and Yemeni stakeholders, to ease tensions and restore stability in
the country. The Indonesian government reiterated the importance of a peaceful
resolution through inclusive and comprehensive political dialogue.

“Indonesia reiterates the importance of a
peaceful resolution through inclusive and comprehensive political dialogue,
under the coordination of the United Nations, and in line with the principles
of respect for Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity,” the
ministry stated.

The escalation of tensions was triggered by
unilateral military movements carried out by Yemen’s Southern Transitional
Council (STC), a political organization. The STC was reported to have made
territorial advances in the eastern governorates of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahrah.

Such actions done by the STC have
significantly heightened tensions and threatened the security environment in
Yemen.
