Banyuwedang Hot Springs Offers Healing Tourism in West Bali

KBRN, Singaraja: Banyuwedang Hot Springs in Pejarakan Village, Gerokgak subdistrict, Buleleng regency, Bali, remains a popular destination for healing and traditional medicine, attracting visitors from across Bali and beyond.

The natural springs have long been known for their therapeutic properties, believed to help treat skin diseases and rheumatism and to promote physical fitness.

The area has also become a destination for health and spiritual tourism. Of the seven springs, some are used for health baths and cleansing rituals, practices that continue to be observed by the local community.

According to Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, head of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Agency, Banyuwedang Hot Springs holds substantial historical value and significant potential as a leading healing tourism destination in West Bali. “Its location within the buffer zone of the West Bali National Park means that tourists benefit not only physically but also mentally and emotionally,” he said.

Entry to the hot springs is affordable, with tickets priced at IDR 15,000 (approximately USD 0.96) for domestic visitors and IDR 45,000 (approximately USD 2.88) for international tourists.

Management has advised visitors to exercise caution while bathing, as the water temperature can reach around 45 degrees Celsius. “We recommend that visitors acclimate before bathing to ensure safety and comfort,” said Komang Sudiasa Artawan, manager of the hot springs.

Looking ahead, the local administration and traditional village managers plan to continue developing supporting facilities to improve visitor comfort, ensuring Banyuwedang Hot Springs remains a leading destination in Buleleng regency. (Misni Parjiati/Lasti Martina)
