VP Gibran Visits Film Studio Utilizing Extended Reality

KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka recently visited DossGuavaXR Studio, a virtual film production studio in Jakarta, on Saturday (12/20/2025). The studio is known for extended reality (XR) technology used in its productions.

As quoted from the country's Vice Presidential Secretariat on Monday (12/29/2025), Gibran was seen observing the film production using XR technology, with representatives from DossGuavaXR Studio explaining the details. The Head Director of DossGuavaXR Studio, Upie Guava, explained that one of the studio’s advantages is the use of artificial intelligence (AI), which allows an actor to appear as if wearing complex costumes without the need to create them physically.

"We just go into the middle of the set, whoever the actor is, and we record the scene; our system can detect it using software," he said.

As quoted from the Vice Presidential Secretariat, the visit underscores the Indonesian government’s commitment to encouraging young people and creative talents in Indonesia. The government has urged them to continue learning, innovating, and becoming self-reliant.

"Through collaboration and the use of technology, the Indonesian film industry is expected to grow sustainably and be able to compete at the global level," the secretariat said in a statement released on Monday (12/29/2025).

Established in 2022, DossGuavaXR Studio is known for supporting content production for various purposes, such as television advertisements and music videos. The studio has recently been involved in the production of the animated film Pelangi di Mars (Rainbow over Mars), scheduled for theatrical release next year.
